Instructions:
  • Players will be doing a couple of exercises shown by the coach, completing this circuit at a mid-pace.

  • That the players have better concentration.

Improving running technique (we are going to keep working on this bc they need it)
Organization:

  • individual work without a ball.
Instructions:
  • Players will follow the coach on how to fix their running technique.
  • Players will be doing: 

-marching technique with opposite hand and leg ( will be shown).

-skipping 

-running crossing feet ( forward and backward)

-running forward and backward

Coach Points:

  • That the players have better concentration.
  • Players react faster and more effectively.

Exercise I (10 mins)

Airball control

Organization:

  • 4 orange cones forming a box X2.
  • 1 ball per player
Instructions:
  • The players will throw the ball higher than them ( without getting out of the box) and they will try to control it before it touches the floor.
Coach Points:
  • I'll be increasing the height of the throw.
  • To help the girls to be more confident in air balls because they always cover their faces.

Exercise II (10 mins)

Sprint and stop ( working resistance and change of direction) 

 Organization:

  • two poles at the end of the field.
  • 2 cones of different colors at the end of the field.
  • Add a ball after a couple of tries without one.

Instructions:

  • The players will run toward the poles, and they have to pay attention to which color the coach says and they have to change the direction of their running as fast as they can. The coach will countdown til 10 and they need to pass the cone before the countdown ends.
  • VARIANT: add a ball

Coach Points:

  • Help players to get better reactions.
  • Teach players how to change direction.

  • Divide the group into teams and play a reduced game with a small field so they are more opportunities for short passes.
  • Let the players have fun.
  • do not stop the game too much to make corrections.
