Practice begins when the Blue player passes to the red player to begin a 1v1 situation the defending player is only passively defend (they cannot tackle the player with the ball)
Once the ball has been touched down a blue player will run with a ball creating a 2v1.
When the ball is touched down, 2 extra reds will join starting with the ball creating a 3v2.
This sequence will continue until becomes an 8v8 (sequence of this is written below)

Once they have gone through sequence, players will reset and start at 1v1 with Blues starting in possession of the ball.

- Interchangable runs to pull defenders away to create space
- Support behind the player with the ball so they can pass.
- Play quickly to exploit the overload.
- Early decision making

Objective: To recognise the trigers to create overloads in the attacking third
Attacking Formation: 2-Full Backs 2-Centre Mid 2-Wingers 2-Strikers
Defending Formation: 1-Goalkeeper 2-Full Backs 2-Centre Back 2-Centre Mids
An attacking player begins the practice by making a pass to team mate to start the attack, attacking team look to create a goal scoring chances using combination play to create overloads.
Defending team aim to regain possession and play the ball into the target area with a teamamtes makes a run into the area to receive the ball to earn a point.
Progression:
- Increase the size of the target area for the defending team.
- lock in a target player for the defending team to ensure the attacking team have 2 extra players
Key Factors:
- Look to make triangles/diamonds between attacking players so it gives at least 2 passing options
- Fast pace to exploit the overload before defenders can get into shape and contain.
Coaching Detail:
Primary Player (no7/11)
-Open body when receiving to play forward into the triangle overload
-Attack the space (overload can lead to open space to dribble into)
Secondary Player (no2/3 or no10)
-Support (overlapping/underlapping runs/support inside in the centre)
-Commnication (where is the run from deep coming from?/going to?)
Tertiary Player (no8)
-Reactions (realise the moment to move over and support creating an overload)
-Off the ball movement (Drag defenders out of position creating space for primary player)
