Football Problem
We fail to quickly shut down our opposition in our final 3rd in central areas which is causing us to concede to many goals
Session Objective
The objective in this session is to improve the teams ability to quickly shut down the middle area in our final 3rd reducing the oppositions ability to create goal scoring opportunities
Organisation
2 grids 35x35 3v3+4 The overload is bounce players on the outside. Blue start with the ball and for ever succesful 10 passes they receive a point. They can use the bounce players as often as they like to help hold posession. when red wins the ball they are to try and complete 10 passes for a point. Each team in BPO is to try and win the ball asap
Progression
limit touches and keep the ball moving and try and create disorganised defending. Bounce players one touch only
Team Task
BPO team to stay tight and compact to replicate playing in central areas and try win the ball back asap. BP team hold posession by accurate effective passing and movement off the ball
Player Tasks
Each player must move 3 paces anywhere after passing ball in the big grid. One player in BPO to call the team movement eg: left, right, push, retreat
Coaches Cues
Shape of BPO. Ability to be patient in winning the ball but not allowing them to progress the ball to the opposite player. Movement off the ball, keep the ball moving, passing accuracy.

Red team starts with the ball in set up as shown.
Blue team sends a player in to the red zone for every 5 passes until they win the ball.
when they win the ball transfer it back to their own zone and the cycle is reversed.
If the BP team lose the ball with one player only in their grid thay are to do a lap.
If the BP team gets 4 players in their grid the BPO team does a lap
Progression
1. limit touches
2. If ball stops in BP they are to do a lap of grid

Session Objective
The objective in this session is to improve the teams ability to quickly shut down the middle area in our final 3rd reducing the oppositions ability to create goal scoring opportunities
Organisation
10 v 10 set up as shown. Goals can only be scored inside the 6 yard box with the foot or anywhere on the feild with any other part of their body.
Teams will be mixed.
the red boxes are for the team in BP to try and play a bounce pass in to receive an extra point and the BPO team needs to deny this as we want the ball closed down in these areas. same is for the danger box at each end. Every time the BPO team can send the ball backyards from that zone and press forward they receive a point
Progression
Take the danger zone out and see if they can still block the danger area of force play back
Team Task
Good communication to stay tight and stop blue from entering the danger area. Move up when red play a negative pass
Player Tasks
6& 8 to sheild the area from both sides and directly through the middle. 3&4 to stay tight band compact to protect our central area
Coaches Cues
Team communication, space between 3,4,6,& 8 ability to play out from the back once we win
