Session Objective: Defending:to improve 1v1 marking and reaction as a group on transition
Organisation:
Two teams of 6,3 of each in each half.Three players defend,three attack.No goalkeepers.Score by 1 touch finish in goal area.Balls in goal to start.Defensive three try to play ball into offensive half;attacking three try to score.Players therefore are involved in both playing forward and defending.Coach dictates which end starts.Rotate players so players play in both attacking and defensive half.Emphasis is on 1v1 defending in each half .when opposition have ball.

Session Objective: to improve defending 2v2
Organisation:
Players in lines each side of goal
Ball played from one end to other.Players then receiving ball attack and players who have just played the ball defend.When attack played out/goal scored,players return to back of respective lines and next pairs play.
Play balls from each end in turn so players have a go at defending and attacking.
Key Factors:
Defending priorities:
Speed to close down quickly in line of ball.
Brakes on and take defensive stance and be patient.
Second player balances off.
Good communication.
Force the direction of play.

Session Objective: Passing warm-up
Organisation:
Players in threes across court:Variety of passing activities,can be varied in any way.Players rotated to be at end or in middle in turn.
A : two balls.1 to 2 and back.2 spins then 3 to 2 and back.
B : 3 to2 ,back to to 3 back to 2 then 2 plays wider pass back to 3 so he can play long pass to 1.2 spins,then repeat same passing sequence from 1 to 2.
C : 3 to 2,back to 3 then to 1 but at pace with good solid first time passing.
D : 1 to 2 who takes on right back foot and plays to 3 who plays back to 2 who takes ball on left back foot to play and so on.
E : Player 2 starts in centre,receives ball from 1 and plays back but then moves to take open body position to receive ball from 1 on back foot and play to 3.Goes back to centre,receives ball from 3 and plays back,but then as before moves to take open body position to receive on back foot and play to1.
