Setup
- 4 v 2 in shaded area as before. 8 v 5 outside.
Practice
- Defenders start with ball and must keep possession for 5 passes before they can transfer to striker then try and score.
- Recovering team must win the ball and try to play out and score.
Progression(s)
- 1. Both teams must play through striker before they can score.
- 2. Big Goals add Goalies.
Coaching Points
- DEFENDERS - Reaction to losing possession. Pressure onto ball carrier, cut pitch in half to make it a two goal game. work as a unit, close the distance etc. Structure behind this.
- Put down your sword and shield and press with thought and consideration.
- 1v1 Coaching Technical points for defending. Use body to cut off space, force extra touches and close the distance. (Like a Boxers Jab, close the gap, close the gap, close the gap and then when close enough hit the power punch (win the ball) )
ATTACKERS
Speed of play, when you win the ball can you take care of the technical aspects of possession, contact with ball, different type of passes and running at players to commit them. can you score whilst defenders are out of shape?

Setup
- 16-20 Players adaptable dependant on numbers bring goals in and width in if numbers are smaller.
- 1 or 2 GK if no goalies hang bibs as targets for 2 goals or side netting for one goal
- Eight Attacks each team.
Practice
- CB for Green must run behind their goal and take a ball and attack as they would in a game. this is repeated whenever a ball leaves the pitch or a goal is scored.
Progression(s)
- Teams switch after 8 shots. keep score add in a forfeit.
Coaching Points
- Develop both ATT and DEF themes
- ATT- Attack against a low block - creating waves of attack and stopping other team breaking.
- DEF- Defending under constant pressure, Remaining Compact as a team and Counter Attack.
- ATT- Rotations, playing forward through gaps and switching play to create weaknesses.
- Def - distances, communication, stay in your unit and step up rather than press as an individual. stay on your feet. Isolate ball carrier on one side.
- when in doubt force back.
