Organisation/ Explanation
4 v 3. 3 x blue, 3 x blue, 2 x yellow (neutrals)
Play commences with a pass from the coach into a grid.
3 x colours & neutral keep possession for as long as possible. When opposing team win possession they must play to feet of #9 in adjacent grid. All team must quickly transition into adjacent grid and support #9
If ball goes out of grid, play recommences with a pass to unmarked #9, coach calls colour of team to keep possession.
Players to concentrate on speed of reaction to transition and quickly support #9.
If change of possession not occurring – limit team in possession to 2 touch.
Team Task: When possession is won play to feet of #9 in adjacent grid, support him ASAP and keep possession for as long as possible.
Player Tasks:
Can you pass to #9s feet immediately?
Can you face forward upon receiving ball?
After possession is won, can you position yourself to receive the ball and play forward
After we win possession can we secure it?
Can you move the ball to allow you to pass to 9’s feet?
When you have possession can you support the ball carrier?

Explanation:
7 v 7. Red 1,4,1,1. Blue 0,1,3,3
Play begins with blue 4.
Objective for blue to attack quickly create GS opportunities and score goals.
White – press blue (create space). If red win possession 10 seconds to score in either of two small goals. Blues attempt to win possession and attack as quickly as possible.
If goal scored or ball goes out of play play restarts with blue 4.
Team Task: To attack as quickly as possible after possession has been won and create GS opportunities.

If you are facing forward and receive a bounce pass from #6/8 can you play a forward pass to #9?
All Can you position yourself to receive the ball and play forward?
#7,11,3,4 can you support #6,8,10 where they are tightly marked and can’t play forward?
#10 can you position yourself between the lines where you can see #9 and the ball carrier?
#9 can you position yourself off the shoulder of the last defender where you can threaten in behind with a forward run?
#10 if the #9 comes short can you go long?
6/8/10 when you receive the ball with time and space can you face forward to play a forward pass?
#6/8 can you create space by changing positions?
All when we win possession can we secure it with a low risk pass?

Can you disrupt opposition defence by creating passing lanes with quick changes of direction?
If #6 (8) is dribbling inside and is tight with opposition can you overlap to offer to take over?
#6/8 If tight with opposition can u shift the point of attack. Play away from pressure?
No 10 if no 6 is under pressure can you come towards the ball between opp defence and midfield. Can u then bounce back to midfielder who is facing forward? No 8 can you overlap as third man in?
All can u support the ball carrier by getting yourself into a passing lane?
Can you create yourself space by checking in and out?
Can you communicate with the BC with clear, precise instructions?
No 7/11 – if you can’t dribble past your opponent can you pass to no 6/8 to play a wall pass in behind opposition. When you play the ball to 6 or 8 can u make a forward run into space behind the full back?
No 6/8 if 7/11 is in possession and cant dribble past his opponent, can you position yourself to play a wall pass into space behind the opposition for 7/11?
2/5 when 7/11 dribble inside to link with 6/8/10 and there are no players in the space in front of you can you overlap?
No 7/11 - when you dribble inside can you play the no 9 who is in behind his opponent?
No 9 – if 7/11 dribbles inside can you position yourself on the shoulder of the last defender in anticipation of a forward pass from no 7/11 in behind the opposition defence?
No 6 & 8, when 9 or 10 receives the ball from 7 or 11 can you get into a passing lane faci
