1v1's -- Steal the Bacon
Set-up -- Grids approx. 15x12 Depending on the numners in the groups -- I try to have an odd # of players that way the match-ups are different each round. (Example 5 yellows and 4 Blues)
Depending on the level/ability of the players -- Coach can serve the balls in or if the group can handle it.. Players send balls across. In the 07 group, If possible it would be best if the coach serves the balls into the grid.
Players play 1v1 and try to get across the end line or through gate/goal. Coaching points: Speed dribble -- Go at players at pace -- Use your laces -- toe pointed down and slightly turned inside. Use all partsof your foot -- inside - outside - sole Head Up -- Look for the open space -Small touches -- Close control Tight/close -- Change of direction/turns -- Unbalance the defender and get across the end line
