Technical Catching Practice in Pairs
Players get into two's, 1 ball between 2.
Coaching Points:
1) Players knees bent
2) Feet shoulder width apart
3) Shoulders forward
4) Heels should NOT be touching the ground
5) Elbows tucked into the side
6) Hands facing forwards
7) Eyes on the ball
Players start by throwing the ball UNDER ARM to their partner's chest who is 5 yards away. Make sure players are following the above technical points.
Progressions:
- Players roll it
- Players throw it above head height
- Players bounce it
Each progression lasts 3 minutes

Side-Shuffle Practice
Players stay in the same pairs from the previous practice. 1 ball between 2
Technical Points:
- Heels off the ground
- Feet never cross/touch
- Elbows tucked into your side
- Hands facing partner
- Knees bent
- Eyes looking at partner
Players will start by side shuffing without a ball making sure they have all the technical points down
Progressions:
1) Players hands are both on the ball and side shuffling to the end
2) Players roll the ball to each other
3) Players thrown ball at chest height to each other

Opposed Practice
Players stay in the same pairs, 1 ball between 2, goals are 7 yards apart.
Make sure players are developing the technique they have been practicing in the session.
The servers are trying to score in the goal.
First of all players are looking to roll it to score, then bounce it to score and then throw it to score
Progressions:
1) Players can shoot using the inside

Technical Points:
Hands in the 'W' position
Watch ball into hands
Hands no higher than chest
Structure:
Players have 1 ball each and to start they just get used to the ball by throwing it from one hand to the other.
Progressions:
1) Players throw the ball up and down using both hands making sure the ball does not go higher than their chin.
2) Players bounce, once again with two hands in the 'w' position, and catch it. No higher than their chest.
3) Players throw above their head and catch, trying to catch the ball at their highest point. Make sure players shout their name when they do it.
4) Players roll the ball in front of them and then move towards and scoop it into their hands. Ball should only be a maximum of 3 yards away.
