Warm-up (15 mins)

Description: Yellow GKs play ball for blue GKs to stop. 

Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):

Regression: Servers shout path of ball for GK to prepare early for the save.

Progression: Servers to vary their shots without telling GKs what type of shot and where it will be. 

Challenges, Conditions or Targets:

If the ball is not secured, GK must touch coloured cone behind them.

GKs must stop the ball from going past them.

5 saves to switch service. Least amount of unsecured serves, wins.

Technical drill (20 mins)

Description: Multiple servers shooting from various distances and angles to test GK shot stopping. 

Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):

Regression: GK chooses which server is shooting and gets into SET ready to receive. 

Progression 1: Servers shout SET to initiate play, GK adopts correct position for that server.

Progression 2: Server passes to shooters who turn and shoot in real time; GK has to change position and react. 

Challenges, Conditions or Targets:

GK must choose best starting position and react to changes in ball position.

Servers cannot run with ball, they must shoot after turning.

Goals scored = songs sung to each other later.

Skill (25 mins)

Description: Blue team must keep possession with GK and count passes made. Red team must score against blue GK.

Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):

Regression: Create zones from which players can shoot unopposed (blue and yellow cones); GK then knows when and from where the shot is coming.  

Progression: Create overload on red team to increase chance of scoring and blue GK shot stopping. Adopt a limited touch rule. Reduce playing area size to increase shooting chances.

Challenges, Conditions or Targets: 

Limited touch rules: 2 or 1. 

Possession team to have 3 passes for a goal.

Most passes or goals win.
