Organization: 30x20 field
Instructions: Introduce the ball. Defender starts with ball and will pass to attacker. He immedietly follows his pass. Defender is not to take the ball away, he gets in defensive stance. Attacker will dribble slowly with small touches towards defenders endzone. Alternate turns.
Coaching Points:
Defender is to follow his pass and slow down as he approaches attacker. Make sure knees are bent and feet are staggard. Force attacker to a side. Slide feet and keep hips open.

- Distance between 1st & 2nd defender
- Cover space
- Stay compact
- Support/ cover angles
- Squeeze as a unit

Progressions: 3v3, 4v4, 5v3.

Instructions: Defender starts with ball and will pass to attacker. He immedietly follows his pass. Defender is now allowed to take the ball away, he gets in defensive stance. Attacker will now try to dribble to defenders endzone. If defender wins the ball he gets a point, If defender can win ball and dribbe back to atacker cone, two points. If attacker dribbles to defenders cone he gets points.
Coaching Points:
-End product once the ball is won, can you counter attacker quickly
- Reading visual cue of attacking player’s pass for a possible interception i.e. eye contact made, head is down to pass
-Angle of approach/shape of run to make play predictable
- Reading visual cues of receiving player in order to decide whether pressure should be applied tightly and/or tackle as they receive. If receiving player has lifted head up after receiving, defender should look to jockey/retreat
- Assessing opportunity to tackle, has the attacking player offered the chance to make a challenge? i.e. poor touch or lifted head to assess options.
Progressions: 2v2, 3v1, 2v1, 3v3, 4v4, 4v3

Organization: Make three channels. Each sqaure should be 10 by 10 yards.
Instructions: Attacking player will start with penny in hand. And also have a penny tucked in side of shorts. Attacking player is to try to get to defenders cone and place the penny on his cone. If attacker makes it to defenders cone he gets point, if defender gets penny off attacket beforehe makes it to his cone, defender gets two points
Coaching Points: Defender run to attacker and slow him down from moving forward. Defender should stay low, with knees bent. Defender should stand in a staggard position and force attacker to a side.
Progressions: Defender has 10 seconds to get penny or else no point.
