This training session is help with the team ball striking ability while working on playing the ball out of pressure to open zones. On the defensive side we are encouraging players to work hard to recover the ball and get it to a teammate.

Dutch Square Movement
Objective:
To always have a supporting player on the left and right side of you. That there is always two options when holding possession.
Coaching Points:
Players who are looking to be successful will:
Collect with their back foot, open up hips to face both options, and check over their shoulder before receiving the ball.

Organisation
Size of area to suit your players.
Players divided into 3 teams.
White team keep possession in the corner square.
One of the Black team presses and tries to win the ball.
If the the red team is able to find the blue team then all blue players have to run to that grid. VIC VERSA
If the black team wins the ball and able to make a pass to a black teammate then the team that loses the ball is in the Center (pressing). Reset
The other Blues have to support the ball (in same sqaure) and the Whites disperse to cover the open squares.
A different Black player presses the Blues.

Short - Short - Long. 1-2 pass and go long (15 mins)
Method:
Divide Group into 3's, 10 yards apart as shown. (P1 = Player 1 etc.)
P1 plays a pass to P2 in the center, who sets back to P1.
P1 then strikes a longer pass to P3 (LOFTED)
Player 3 can catch it (appropriate for this level) - Progress to controlling it after 2 mins
P2 must quickly turn to provide a set pass for P3.
P3 then plays a ground pass to P2 in the centre, who sets back to P3.
P3 then strikes a longer pass to P1, & the circuit repeats.
Coaching Points:
Quality of Pass - Pace, Accuracy, Weight.
Quality of Set - Smooth.
Receiving - First Touch, Control.
Variations:
1. Lofted Pass.
2. Driven Pass.
3. Longer Loft Pass.
