Transition 1 (10 mins)

Organization:

a field of 30x40 is made into four squares. 4 players in each section with designated numbers assigned to each player

THE RED LINE In the middle is the devider betweem the two fields NO DEFENDER CROSSES THE RED LINE unless their number is called

Blue line is marked with 4 CONES.

Instructions:

Players must pass in order of the numbers assigned, player 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 and 4 to 1. If a number is missing then they must skip the number.

When a number is called the player assigned by the number will go across the blue line to the oppositions box and tires to win the ball.. when the defender wins the ball then the player can put the ball in the goal to score as many passes completed by the containing team. example: after 5 passes the defender wins the ball and places the ball in the goal for 5 points. for every out of bounce play in any case, the defender scores a point for his team.

Coaching Points/Questions:

starting with 1 v 3 in quick transitions, 30 sec tops for every player to rotate as numbers are called. then two numbers are called at once for 2v2s.

Reminding the players keeping the ball that they are sustaining the score by adding up to their score board as their defending team mates are getting the goals can maintain their spirits high.

moving into space, pacing and moving, communicating, passing weight and accuracy, first touch.

Regressions/Progressions:

5 players in every box adding the number 5, then there is 2v3 introduced by calling two numbers as defenders for every 30 sec.

4 players in every box, one ball for every two squares. one player volunteers to get in and win the ball, after 30 sec or 8 complete passes a second defender can join, then a third and followed by the last accordingly. when defenders win the ball they have the option to turn the ball back to their team by passing into their square or put the ball into the net on the oppositions side. placing the ball in the goal gets the defending team 2 points, to turn the ball to their side and continue passing they score 5 points. The containing team gets 10 points if they manage to have all 4 defenders in their box.

Transition 2 (15 mins)

Organization:

Remove the 4 CONES mrked as the blue line in the previous activity

two fields side to side 20x 30, goals on each corner.

7 players for each team

one ball for each field

Instructions:

randos, 5 v 3.

defenders win the ball and put the ball in the either net on their defending field, the amount of passes complete between the defenders before scoring is the number of their scoring points. 3 passes to get the ball in the goal equalls three goals. out of bounce scores the defenders 1 point.

Coaching Points/Questions:

Encourage and coach on pressing as a team, working together to delay and closing down with support, communicate and work as a team, pass and move. moving on and off the ball. staying on the toes (quick to react,) accelerate and deccelerate

Regressions/Progressions:

We can widen the field to make it more difficult for the pressing and easier to for the team in possession.

When the field is made smaller then pressing will be easier and less demanding and the team in possession will likely find it frustrating to keep the ball.

transition 3 (15 mins)

Organization:

7 v7 30x40

2 balls

Instructions:

a team must have both balls in order to score. scoring in one of the two goals assigned to the team gets 1 point, or hitting the either cone on the ends of the field gets them 2 points.

Coaching Points/Questions:

check over the shoulders, pass and move. communicate, protect the ball, find space.

Regressions/Progressions:

reduce the number of players in each team.

add a floater for the attacking or the defending team.
