Physical:  2/3 min 30sec games 

General Movement - ABC'S - Agility balance coordination 

 

30 second  game players must jump or move ( coach decides ,changes movement) 3/4 rounds

every time a player jumps over a cone or ball they get a point. Who can get the most points.

 

Challenge: allow players to pick who they are (sports star, video game etc..) 

 

Ball Mastery - Move of the week   5min 

 

Objective: To develop the technique to perform the back heel chop to take the ball away from a defender.

 

 Progression: Players look to attack a cone and do a chop to get to space. every time they do they get a point. Who can get the must points. 

 

Description

The back heel chop is used as a feint and turn away from an opponent. The players practice with both feet.

The back heel chop can also be used as a “Fake Shot” to commit the defender and then take the ball away from them. The back heel chop is of course not an end in itself, but works to create space for the next action.

 

Coaching Points for Back Heel Chop

1. Players dribble the ball under control with their right foot and look up to see where the opponent is.

2. The player makes one last big step and plant their standing leg (left) beyond the ball. Their left leg should be slightly twisted outwards because they will soon be turning to that side.

3. The player bends their right knee and lift the left up, covering the ball with the with their right foot back. Then use the inside of the right foot to take the ball away at a 90 degree angle to the left.
