Setup
- 30m by 25m grid split down the middle
- disc marker, 4 mini goals
Explanation/game rules
- A transitional game working on maintaining possession and finding a penetrating pass to the opposite side
- Red team are in possession, 2 red players must be in one half of the grid at all times, not involved in the play until found by a teammate on the other half. 5 passes must be made before transferring the ball to other side
- Blues aim is to press the red team and force mistakes, if blue win the ball they can score in the 2 mini goals on the half they won the ball
- 1 point is awarded to the red team every time they successfully transfer the ball across, 2 points are awarded to the blue team if they score in the mini goal

- Movement to create angles
- Ball speed and tempo
- Quick transitions between half's
- Accurate passes with minimal touches on the ball
- Defensive high press

Explanation:
- 6v4 plus GK
- The attacking third is divided by flat markers with only the GK in the area
- Play begins with the attacking team, attackers aim to shift the ball to find a pass into the final third, it must be a direct pass into the final third with an attacker making a timed run into the zone, only 1 attacker can enter the zone and attempt to score 1v1 with the GK - look to attack quickly, can add time here 30seconds to shoot etc
- Once play has gone out for Red team, yellow team starts, blue must reset to half way as soon as play is dead to defend next wave (yellow).
- No defenders can enter the final third
- green is (9) for attacking team switch between 9s in our team.
Progression:
- 1 defender can enter the final third
- If defenders win the ball they can attempt to score in the 2 mini goals
Coaching Points:
Attackers
- Can we shift the ball and find the penetrating pass into the final third
- Timing of the pass and run into the attacking third
-Weight and accuracy of pass
Defenders
- Can we defensively coordinate the unit and shit and press accordingly
- Can we shift to block passing lanes into the attacking third
Coaching Points- instruct forward players to make runs in behind into space for someone to make a pentrating pass
- players in the box if ball has been played out wide for the cross
