Organisation
- Area - half pitch. 7 v 7 (including 2 goalkeepers) both teams set out in a 1-3-2-1 formation
- Game rules, no corners & offside applies
- One team is designated as the counter attacking team, the other team must look to build play up and work the ball into the opponents half before they can score
- When the counter attacking team win possession they have ten seconds to start a counter attack
- Normal goal is worth 1, counter attack goal is worth 2.
- Swap attacking team and counter attacking team over after 12.5 minutes

- Team shape and structure for both attackers and defenders
- Create and maintain space to play
- Decision making, when to keep possession and wait for chance or when to play forward.
- Split opponents and exploit/attack the gaps

Organisation
- 14 Players
- Pitch size 40 x40 yards split in half with a halfway line
- Two goalkeepers
- 4v4 in one half of the pitch 2v2 in the other half
- GK start play into the 4v4 half
- Attacking team keep possession and look for opportunities to pass forward into the attacking half to their team mates
- Two Attacking players can follow the pass and travel into the attacking half, two defenders can recover (creating a 4v4)
- Attacking team then try to score into the goal. If successful they receive the ball from GK and attack back the other way
- If defenders win the ball they try to counter attack and score into opposite goal
Coaching Points
- Decision making; when to risk and play forward into attacking half or when to keep possession, who supports the ball, who recovers as a defender.
- Quality of pass
- Types of pass to play forward, lobbed, chipped, curved, through ball, feet.
- Quality of touch
- Creating and maintaining space to play
- Cover and balance considerations for both attackers and defenders
