Unguarded (15 min) (15 mins)

Simple Shooting Warm-up:

a. Pass out wide, open-up touch, alternate red and green shooting

b. Switch players (if two keepers switch them also)

c. Touch inside for curl shot (was outside)

d. Pass to top cone and far shot

Challenges, Conditions or Targets:

Aim here is to get reps in. Go over shooting technique with the team, allow them the chance to take many shots. Very little interventions (mostly 1-on-1)

- Later, focus on shots on frame

2v1 (15 min) (15 mins)

2v1 Shooting Drill:

a. Red plays with red, and green with green. Start with pass between two top cones. Upon pass, the defender from the pass side runs out to defend. It is now a 2v1

b. Direction changes every rep

c. Switch red and green

Challenges, Conditions or Targets:

- The aim is to get your shot off as soon as possible, before defender comes. How can my player find a balls width of space to rip a shot? Will they make dynamic runs to open up space for their teammate? How can we quickly and efficiently score

Football/Soccer Session Plan Drill (Colour): Bumper Game (20 min)

Bumper Game (20 min) (20 mins)

Bumper Game

a. 3v3 in middle plus three bumpers each team: Two on attacking endline and one on one side

  - Note: If more players, add another wide bumper (two wide each team), then fill in center column

b. Must use a bumper before scoring

c. Switch all in/out periodically

d. Can adjust to make player switch-out when a pass is made. Encouraging movement

Challenges, Conditions or Targets:

Here, there is lots of space to shoot. Each team must however look to get the ball high to make the shot easier (bumpers at the end lines). Why? It's easier to score closer to goal. And, if its open to play a long pass (which it is), one should. Then, focus on off-ball movement to prepare for shot. This drill is great for many facets of attack
