Goal is to improve touch, dribbling, and running with the ball. Decision making in 1v1 situations, when to pass and when to keep the ball. In passing, remembering that our choices are: dribble forward, take on defenders, pass sideways, drop. Wall passes, and immediate movement after passing is key.

Pair up. Juggle ball and see who can do the most in a row!

Groups of three or four. Player passes to another player and immediately drops to a back cone and runs back to top of triangle. Mimic checking in and out. Keep head up and watch the ball while moving to the back. Communicate.

Setup:
Two mini-goals on a 15x20 field. Bumper players for Red Team on the sidelines - who may move laterally up and down. Red defender is a drop and must stay in exclusion zone behind red mini cones. Adjust the depth of these as needed. Blue and red players start from next to goals on either side.
Goal:
Dribbling players need to make decisions on when to dribble and with to pass. The key idea is to remember if you can no longer go forward, use wide players. If wide players are not an option, drops are available. The side line bumper players can also drop, cross of pass back to active field player.
Coaching Points:
* When do you pass? (When you are pressured and have no way to beat a player - but try beating them in this game!)
* How does passing work best? (Pass and then move to space immediately - wall passes, using space, etc.)
* Defender needs to contain the player and make the right choice on when to challenge. Small goals mean no need to stab right away.
* Make sure bumpers are active - on balls of feet moving with ball carrier.
Progressions

4v4 or 5v5 play. Play until either:
Team Scores: The team that scores stays on, the other team runs off and is replaced by the same color. Change in direction for the scoring team in this case, ball fed in from coach. (Example: Red scores to the right, blue runs off and red can start attack to the left with Blue running on ASAP!!)
Ball out of Play/Missed Shot: The team that sends it out of play leaves and the other team is fed a ball from center. Example: Red sends it out of bounds, they leave immediately and new red team runs on while blue is fed a new ball.
Variation if less players is three teams and the third team is at middle to run into position.
Drill is meant to be ready for transitions, team that stays on needs to quickly take advantage of change, and use space. Defending teams need to react quickly and get organized.
