Warm Up:
Stage 1 - In a 30 x 30 square lighr football movements to increase HR and perfrom dynamic stretches.
Stage 2 - Increase Intensity
Organisation: Mark out cones on a full standard football pitch as shown in diagram.
Instructions:
Players perfrom 1 lap of a casual low intensity jogging for preparation. Partner players. Total exercise time 25-30mins approx.
1) One player of each pair run (sprint0 around the outside of one half of the field. This Player holds the baton.
2) Whilst the players runs around the perimeter of half the field the other player (blue lines) walks across the pitch half way lne to meet up with them when they get to the intersection of th ehalf way line at the other side of the field.
3)As the pair meets back up the first player passess the baton to the second player, who now runs the other half of the field.
4) The player who completed the first sprint walks/jogs back acrossthe pitch half following the half way line to meet up with them when they reach the start postiton this equals one lap.
Teams perform 6 laps (i.e 6 sprints each)=1lap
Recover 3-4minutes
Repeat for a second set of 4 laps
Slow Jog of 2 laps to fininsh and cool down.
Key Coaching Points
Good Technigue on the dynamic stretches and also the fast feet activities. Monitor both hand/arm and feet movement.
