Whole 1 (10 mins)

WHOLE - part - whole

8 v 8 SSG

Wide - players to think about cover with consideration to the wide areas.

The wider pitch will encourage the players to think about balance as if thy all cover there will be too much space for the attacking team.

GK - restricted to "D" as this allows for more room behind the defence.

Formation - 1-3-2-2

3 Defenders v 2 Attackers should allow 1 x def to press/delay and 2 x def to cover.

Coaching Observations to Note:

- How does the 1st def press/delay

- Do the other def give cover?

- Does the defensive line get caught flat?

Part (25 mins)

Overload Practice

7 (6+GK) v 9

Defence sets up with back 4 and 2 CDM - Mirroring the 4-3-3 formation on gameday with 2 CDM's

Attack sets up with 3 attackers and 3 midfielders to mirror match day - allowing the FB's to create width on the overload.

If defenders win the ball, look to play out and hit the goals/wide areas.
