Aim:
- To develop individual foot skills and turns, applying them effectively in a 1 v 1 situation.

INTENSITY: Moderate-high ACTIVITY TIME: 30 secs REST: 30-60 secs INTERVALS: 30
Activity:
- 1 v 1
- (2) small goals & (2) goals made with cones
- Coach feeds the ball into the field.
- Player then look to attack one of the 4 goals, using turns to change direction and accelerate away from the defender.
Scoring
-If players score in the mini goal closest to the coach players will score 2 points, rest of goals are 1 point.
Progression
-If a player performs a successful turn before they score they will be given a bonus point
Coaching Points:
1. Close control
2. Use your body to protect the ball and turn the defender
3. Change direction
4. Be creative
5. identify the space to run into and accelerate into it

INTENSITY: Moderate-high ACTIVITY TIME: 2 mins REST: 2 mins INTERVALS: 10-12
Activity:
- 4 v 4 (3 teams, 1 team resting at a time)
- Field divided in to (4) squares as shown with 1 v 1 in each zone. Players must stay in their square
- Players to rotate positions after every game
Progression:
- Remove zone restrictions to allow for free play
Coaching Points:
1. Encourage 1 v 1 dribbling and turns.
2 Can players beat their opponent 1 v 1 then look to make the pass to the next zone or score.
3. Less coaching, let them play.

Foot skills and Turns (20 mins)
INTENSITY: Moderate-high ACTIVITY TIME: 2 mins REST: 30 secs INTERVALS: 8
Activity:
1. players perform different movements in and out of cones as instructed by the coach (inside, ousides both feet, toe taps, soccer boxes, juggles, drags)
2. Turns
Once player reaches the defender the following turns will be recapped:
a). inside cut
b). Stop-hop
c) Step-over turn
d). Outside cut
e). Pull back
f). L-shape
g). Cruyff
(perform turns with both feet)
Coaching Points:
1. Close control
2. Use all surfaces of the foot
3. Keep your head up and use periheral vision
4. Change of direction and acceleration.
