RED 3-4-1-2

BLUE 4- Diamond - 2

3x8 min Blocks w/2min Rest

Session Explained:

BLUE looking to play through the thirds having a possession based

approach - looking to play through the diamond wherever possible.

Aiming to score - SSG Rules, no corners.

RED aiming to defend in a mid block, and effectively deal with the BLUE midfield diamond

Problems/Solutions

Problem 1 - BLUE switch the ball and get the FB into the game

Solution 1 - RED WB aggressively presses the FB forcing play wide not allowing a pass back inside, the back 3 shuffle around into a back 4.

Along side that as the pitch diagram shows;

The CFs drop either side of the BLUE 6
Angle of the WB press needs to show the line and not back inside
Midfield 3 shuffle across with the 10 dropped in - man for man
Vital the back 3 shuffle across and far side WB tucks in as LB

Problem 2 (15 mins)

Problem/Solution 2

Problem 2 - Quick switch goes directly to FB, WB cant get out to the player in time

Solution 2- The CM will have to press the FB, angle of the press forcing play down the line

Additional Detail:

Ball side CF drops onto the ball side CM
Other CF sit on the 6, leave the CBs
WB and CB ball side have a double bank so should be able to deal with and balls down the channel
CM and 10 shuffle across and leave the furthest man.
