Component 1

UEFA B Licence, Component One, Striker Movement, 4-4-2

Option 1

-Central midfielder plays a pass out wide to the winger.

-1st striker drops towards the ball asking to receive looking to drag the defender with him to create space in behind.

-Wide midfielder plays an angled pass to the 2nd striker pinning the defender.

-1st striker spins keeping there eyes on the ball looking for a pass between the two central defenders, into the box, whilst staying on-side. Playing in a triangle.

-Depending on the anlge of the pass from the second striker, the shot in the box could be with a first time strike.

-Keeping it game realistic and not allowing and unrealsitic amount of touches.

Option 2

-Central midfielder plays a pass out wide to the winger.

-1st striker drops towards the ball asking to receive looking to drag the defender with him to create space in behind.

-Wide midfielder plays an angled pass to the 2nd striker pinning the defender.

-As this pass travels the 1st striker runs in an arced fashion around the front of the second stirker towards the goal.

-The 2nd striker will hold the ball up and lay the 1st striker off to the outside for a strike.

-Depending on the type of lay-off the striker will either take a 1st time shot or drive into towards the goal with a positive touch and finish.

Central midfielder (1) becomes the wide player (2), wide player stands next to the goal once they have played in the striker as an end man (3). End man collects the ball and joins the back of the central midfielders qeue.

Progression - add in pressure with 2 defenders, who become active once a striker touches the ball, wide players can support the attack once defenders are added in.

Component 2

UEFA B Licence, Component Two, Striker Movement, 4-4-2

3 Zone game

 Teams will play in a 2-3-2 formation.

-Only the strikers can score to start with, with a first time finish.

-After 2 passes are completed the ball can be played into a zone more advanced. 

-1 defender can join the midfielders to create an overload situation.

 -1 supporting midfielder can join the strikers once the ball is played into the final third.

-Looking for the strikers to vary there runs and movement to create goalscoring opportunities and to drag the defenders out of position.

Progression 1 - Strikers can finish with more than one touch.

Progression 2 - Remove the zones and anybody can score.

Both teams looking to score goals!

Phase of Play

UEFA B Licence, Phase of Play, Striker Movement, 4-4-2.

-Ball starts from the full backs, either from the side or from the goal.

-Work the ball forward into the final third and look for the strikers movement to create space and allow the other players to utilise this space whether it be the 2nd striker or a supporting midfielder.

-Looking for the movements by strikers in the final third which has been previously worked on.

-High quality of play, move the ball quickly.

-Un-Selfish runs, with or without the ball.

-Play the ball out wide early and look for the wide players to hit strikers early before the defence get set.

-If defending team win the ball back, play as normal, clearing there lines into the big goal and squeeze up the ptich.

-Attacking team press to win the ball back if possible.
