Pre-practice & Start of every practice:

 

"Getting your touches"

Players are to perform these exercises on their own upon entering the field, 100 each of the following:

  • Toe-touches 
  • Tic-tocs
  • Sole-roles
50 each of the following: (2 or more, for more advanced players)
  • Del Piero's (L&R L-turns)
  • V-turns (L&R)
  • Brazilian toe-taps
  • Out-out Ins (L&R)

"Rondos"

After completing their touches players grab a ball and other players and get Rhonda's going until practice starts. 

 

  • Square in images used for reference, players are encouraged to just keep it tight with no defined area in groups of 4-6.
  • If groups of larger than 6 are necessary, players use 2 defenders until large enough to split the group.
"Activation Activity"

 

This is the official start of practice, players line up in equal numbers at cones distanced 12-15 yards apart. Activation is broken into 3 separate tasks, for the sake of space each is shown with one example and identified above by number.

1. Dynamic Stretching:

  • Jog down & back, side shuffles, karaoke's, high knees & butt kicks, open & closed hips, high kicks, sprint & back pedal
2. Two-touch Passing:
  • right foot on lake, left foot on late, and both feet
  • Check out, open up hips, rear foot receive, head up, find feet, follow your pass 

3. Short-Short Long:

  • After sending long pass, check down and out to receive short pass and set partner with another short pass before they make a long pass of their own and cycle repeats. 
  • Check out, open up hips, rear foot receive, head up, find feet, follow your pass
