Ball Mastery 1

Type: Ball Mastery/Fitness

Team Function: Passing and Receiving

Zones: All zones

Duration: 10 minutes

Objectives: Good touch under fatigue

Emphasis: Quality of pass

Coaching Points: Part of foot/ball

Organization: Set up multiple stations

Equipment: Disc cones/Balls

Goals: Players maintaing quality of pass while fatigued

Instructions: Players in the middle will move back and forth receiving and playing a pass. Players on the outside will play a ball into the middle then sprint to the opposite side.

Progression: Variety of touches

Ball Mastery 2

Duration: 10 minutes

Objectives: Dribbling with speed under fatigue

Emphasis: Keeping the ball close

Coaching Points: Part of foot while dribbling/turning

Organization: Set up multiple stations

Equipment: Disc cones

Goals: Players being able to maintain dribbling ability at speed while fatigued.

Instructions: Players will sprint dribble towards middle cone and perform turn and dribble back to the beginning. They will leave the ball and sprint to the other side. As soon as the ball is back to the beginning the next player can start. Players not on the ball are not to be stood still they should be active and jogging on the spot ready to go again when the ball comes around.
