Organization:
4v3+ GK, 1 Server with as many balls as possible, 2 touches to serve
1 of the 3 defenders will be a chase defender who becomes live after server's first touch
3 gates (corner flags or cones)
Instructions:
- Server has to find CM. Game is live when the CM touches the ball. He/she has to try to find the forwards with the ball. Once in possession, they'll combine to try to score
- If the defenders win the ball, they have to try to score in the 3 gates. The defenders have a 3 pass limit
Coaching Points:
Encourage previous combinations learned
Runs towards-away or away-towards to receive the ball
Visual and Audio cues:
+ Check shoulders to see where pressure is. If close, you can use the CM. If far, turn and proceed
+ Communication from teammates (Turn, Time, Man on,...)
Look for the split/through ball
Once ball is on a wing for a cross, teach the two forwards to variate runs in the box

Organization:
4 12X12 grids
3 players in each grid with a different color
1 ball per grid
Instructions:
Players will work on different passing combinations
- Pass and move anywhere in the grid
- Progression from 2 touches to 1 touch
- Wall Pass
- Takeovers
- Overlaps
Coaching Points:
- Always on toes, NEVER STANDING STILL!
- Encourage players to often check shoulders
- Receiving using both foot and different parts: Inside, Outside, Sole
Takeover:
+ The 2nd attacker runs directly at the 1st attacker from the opposite direction
+ The 1st attacker protects the ball from the defender by keeping it on the foot
furthest from the defender so that his body is in between the defender and the ball
+ Communication between both to time it
Overlap:
+ The first attacker plays the ball to the second attacker who dribbles in a direction away
from the overlapping space
+ The second attacker dribbles to create overlapping space and the first attacker then
becomes the player who overlaps. The ball is played into the running path of the first
attacker
Wall Pass:
+ First attacker runs right at the defender with the ball
+ The second attacker sets up level with or slightly ahead of the defender,
turned sideways, shoulders pointed to the goals
+ When the first attacker is close to-but still out of tackling range of-the
defender, he/she must read cues from the defender
+ If the defender is jockeying between the two attackers and obviously
playing the pass, the first attacker must simply dribble past the defender with
speed
+ If the defender is attending more to the first attacker, then the first attacker should
pass the ball to the wall player’s (2nd attacker) front foot
+ The 2nd attacker plays the ball with one touch into the space behind the defender
and into the running path of the first attacker who can receive and continue the attack
Progressions:
- Make it a competition: First group with 8 passes performed by every player wins
- When coach calls a color, players wearing that color must move to another grid
