GRID 4: Defending 2 v 1 - forcing play down the touchline: progression: S becomes a second defender D2 and passes the ball to A. A must try to dribble the ball through the two red cones at the opposite end of the grid. D1 must prevent A from doing so by forcing him away from the target area. D2 must immediately adopt a covering position.
GRID 5: 1 v 1 - forcing play across the field: S passes the ball to A. A must try to dribble the ball through the two red cones at the opposite end of the grid. D1 must prevent A from doing so by forcing A across the field.
GRID 6: 2 v 1 - forcing play across the field: progression: S passes the ball to A. A must try to dribble the ball between the red cones at the opposite end of the grid. D1 must prevent A from doing so by forcing him away from the target area. D2 must adopt a covering position for D1

GRID 7: 2 v 2 - followed by 3 v 3, 4 v 4 etc. D2 passes the ball to either A1 or A2. The A team can work as individuals or combine as a team to dribble the ball across the D1 & D2 defensive line. The D team must combine to defend their end line.
GRID 8: retreating from a position goal side of the ball. S serves the ball to either A1 or A2 who can work as individuals or combine to score. D1 will attempt to delay the play or intercept.
GRID 9: retreating from a position on the wrong side of the ball. D2 serves the ball to either A1 or A2 who can work as individuals or combine as a team to score. D1 must delay the play to allow D2 to recover. D1 & D2 must communicate to decide whether D2 attempts to intercept or take up a covering position. D2 cannot enter the play until A1 or A2 has taken a touch.

SET UP: 10 x 30 grid
GRID 1: Prevent opponent from turning: S1 passes to A. A must try to turn to pass to S2. D must prevent A from doing so. D must make up the ground whilst the ball is moving.
GRID 2: Prevent the ball from being played forward: S passes the ball to A. A must try to pass back to S. D must prevent A from doing so.
GRID 3: Forcing play down the touchline. S passes the ball to A. A must try to dribble the ball through the two red cones at the opposite end of the grid. D must prevent A from doing so by forcing A away from the target area.
