General 15mins (15 mins)

Organisation

55 yds (L) x 44 yds (W)

Groups of 3 or 4 if extra players are in attendance.

End players can work and turn back 10 yards relay at low intensity before middle player returns to their end.

18 minutes total for drill. Three 2 minute blocks of work with 4 minutes rest between activity in the middle. 1 minute recovery of rest

Use different progressions.

Explanation

We are looking to increase and improve the midfielders areobic capacitiy to suit their physical roles during a match, they simply play 1-2 with both players on each end.

Aerobic Considerations

Can players repeatedly cover 30 -40 distances to support players in posession as might happen in match situations. Managing to recover during the constant runs and still maintain technical aspects in receiving and passing.

Technical & Tactical Reasoning

This will test their abiity to maintain technical aspects of control and passing when tiring from distance covered and test their endurance. Players in middle must not be closer than 10 yards to player on the end as in matches to prevent pressing players intercepting or only covering a small space.
