Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): 2v1 to 3v2 Transition

Transition 2v1 to 3v2

Organisation: 40 x 50 size pitch with two goals at either end.

- Ball is fed to the attacking players in Red.  2 join the field of play and attack the lone blue 2v1

- After goal is scored, saved or missed, two blue wide players join the lone defender creating a 3v2 transition in opposite direction.

Coaching points for attackers - Tease the defender towards you before playing in the overloaded player to shoot and hopefully score.

Coaching points for defenders - Show wide, angle the body, move the feet, don't be square on. Show away from the partner / other attacker.

Regression : Player can't tackle

Progression: defender makes an attacking pass to the attackers from their position, when the attacker touches the ball, the 2v1 starts.
