Physical Light Warm Up |
3 Serve Warm Up 6 balls p/set 2/4 sets p/GK (5-8 mins)
Switch the service R/L so each GK works both sides
18-24 balls p/Gk in the warm up.
Working GK moving around the goal facing a variation of balls - 6 balls p/set then swap GK. Still a warm up so balls are being struck around 70% but waiting for the GK's to be set and and only looking to work hands and not the body (not looking to score)
2 balls with each server.
1 - Half volley into the basket at the near post
2- Mixture of serves - Volley, skimmer, dipper,
3- Off the ground strike once the GK is set

Technical Putting together the previous 2 drills working on; Footwork (getting across the goal) Handling (dealing with different issues) |
|
Tactical Decision Making - Catch/Hold/Parry if we aren't catching it where is the ball going to end up? Where is the safe zone? |
|
Physical Working load will be high - but plenty of rest and not taxing on the body as not much diving. |
Footwork/Handling
3 GK's plus myself - 3 servers/ 1 working
6 Balls p/set (go round twice) 2 sets p/GK
Once each GK has been switch the service from R/L
Mini goal added for the cut back area
Session Explained:
3 Serve drill; working on footwork/handling and decision making.
Rebounds are live - so if the ball bounces back to the server carry on.
GK starts centrally, footwork across the goal to the post where the first serve will come in
1) Cut Back - Once across the goal and set first service will be a cut back, shaded area is where the GK ideally deals with the ball. (Delivery notes - rolling ball before delivery)
Positioning - Yard off the post Technical - Positive step before diving Decision - Hold or Parry (if parry ask where the safe zone is)
2) Strike from the edge of the box (to be served down the middle of the goal) - Once up and set centrally a variation of balls from the edge of the box will be served.
- Skimmer across the floor
- Dipper
- Half volley to chest
3) Top corner save - ball to be thrown into the top corner once GK is on the move across the goal - floated in so there chance to save it
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.

|
Physical Heavy load - but working no more than 20 seconds. Plenty of rest while other GK's working. |
|

|
Social Builds competition and relationships |
