Based on 3v2s. Used both 11v11 goals in just under half afull pitch coned width wise to the penalty area. Both GKs and outfield playerswere split into a 10 and a 9.
Teams set up a 2v2 with GKs and the rest of the playersfor each started on the opposite sideline. Play starts with the attacking GK, aCF comes onto the pitch to make up the outfield 3v2, the GK passes to the CFwho bounces into one of his 2 teammates and those 3 then attack their opponentsto attempt to score.
If possession is lost then the defending team can attackto score. Play stops when the ball goes off the pitch, a goal is scored oreither GK makes a save. At this point the attacking 3 players leave the fieldand are replaced by 2x defenders. The team that was defending is joined by a CFand play is started by the GK playing into that CF to restart. GKs can be usedto provide more of an overload, replicating oncoming midfielders when comparingto a match situation. When defenders win possession, can they transition toscore.
Object is to play quickly to promote transitions andsimulate real match situations (out of position, unbalanced defending etc.)Score is kept and added to each time.
Coaching points:
In possession: speed of play, movement, opportunities toshoot, use of width, use of overloads.
Out of possession: Defensive principles, use of GK,clearances.
General: Communication, Organisation from GKs
