Warm Up (10 mins)

Organization

- All players in a 20 x 20 area

- All players have a ball which they leave in a space

Activity

- All players dribble around the area in different ways

- The coach will call out go and the players will perform a ball manipulation

Ball manipulations - Inside/outside cuts, Toe taps, pull push, sole of the foot roll

Coaches Emphasis

- Soft Feet

- Quality of movement before speed

- Once the skill is developing can we speed it up

- Be on toes when performing skills, then accelerate after the move

- Head up to see where space is

Global 3vs3 4vs4 (15 mins)

Organization

- Two fields of 15 x 25

- 3v3 on each field or 1 4vs4 4 depending on numbers on half field

Activity

- 3v3 SSG, or 4vs 4

- The emphasis is on the defenders working together in a game scenario

Coaching Emphasis

- FUN

- Free Play

- attack the defender

-decision on when to pass or dribble

- suck defenders in, then make your decision

Analytical 2vs 1 (15 mins)

Organization

- Rectangle area with 10-12 yards

- Place a disc line 10 and 20 yards and end

- 3 defenders

- 2 attacker on the end for the practice

Activity

- As the 2 attacker starts the first defender steps to close and attempt to prevent the attacker leaving the rectangle

- The defender attempts to win the ball or force wide

- The defender gets 1 point for forcing the ball wide out of the rectangle of the field and 2 points for winning the ball back

- Once the ball crosses the red line the next defender steps out, the second defender is attampting to do the same and the first defender stays in their grid sand can't come into the next grid

Progression

- if defender wins the ball in either grid, they can pass it up to the next defender, or dribble with speed and try to score at goal

Coaching emphasis

- Cut off options

- Close the space with body

- Move feet quickly

- Dont dive in

-be patient

-force them out wide

- close down quickly

Global (15 mins)

Organization

- 25 x 40 Area

- 4v4 or 5v5 game

- Halfway line laid out with flat discs

Actvity

- As normal the players play a 4v4 game

- The emphasis is placed on defending from the front and winning the ball back as high up the field as we can

- If the you are able to win the ball in the opposition half and score it counts as 2 goals

- Players must play the retreat line on goal kicks

- The ball is active from teh pass not the first touch of the receiving player

Coaching Emphasis

- Where do we want the ball to go?

- look for open space

- attack defenders

- decision making
