Method: The ball starts with the GK. The team with 8 seek to construct play and overcome the press using combinations as they aim to score into the mini goals. The team with 6 aims to press and win the ball. Once they regain possession, the pressing team has 30 seconds in which to score on the keeper.
Coaching Points: The centre-forward should close the centre-back down and ensure that their angle of approach forces the centre-back into traps or obliges them to make difficult passes. The 2 wide attackers need to move in unison with the centre-forward when pressing and block passes to the full-backs. Reading the movement of passes and shutting off passing lanes are important elements as well as constant communication. The pressing team needs to force the attacking team into playing long passes or making risky runs. The team with 8 sets up to play out with open body shapes and midfielders looking to link the play. 3x10 minute plays stopping to use the tactics board to adjust anything necessary. (35 mins)

Warm Up (25 mins)
Method: Skill Based Warm up. The objective is to get as many touches with each playing part of the body working from head to chest to thigh to volleys to ground pass. There are 5 progressions for each team. Players in the middle must run through the cones after each contact made with outside before moving onto a new feeder. It is 60 seconds on working, then you stop for 45 seconds and stretch before moving on to the next progression. Swap inside to out after all progressions are done.
Coaching Points: Correct body shape when receiving. Receiving on the back foot and passing with the other. Constant communication with each other looking to give and receive precisely. Heading the ball with the correct area and using the right force when playing the ball back. Going at a constant steady pace while working. (25 mins)
