Training for U8 players focusing on ball mastery and agility/coordination. Four stations 10-12 minutes each. Do 2 stations, give a water break, 2 stations water break.. If a player wants water, let them get it. Don't stop for water too often unless there is excessive heat. Always end each session with a cheer. Do this training for both of your practice days in the same week. i.e do this same training Monday and Wednesday.

Cones 2 yards apart with cones 8 yards across, 1 ball per player, Maximum 3 players per line.
COACHING POINTS / KEY CONCEPTS
Do each activity 3 times.
Non ball progression: Run, skip, gallop, side shuffle, run backward.
W/ball progression: Players dribble with outside of pinky toe toward the cone.
Right foot only/inside cut around cone
Left foot only/inside cut around cone.
Right foot only/outside cut around cone
Left foot only, outside cut around cone,
Right foot to cone, pull back, left foot return
Right foot to cone sole turn, right foot return
Left foot to cone, sole turn, left foot return

COACHING POINTS / KEY CONCEPTS
Dribble to gates: Players dribble with outside of toe toward the cone. They will do the move through the gate and switch feet. Do each skill for several minutes. Allow them to freestyle (choose any move or do a different move at each cone). Progression: fake-take, inside foot chop, sole hook, V, scissors, 1-2. Coaching points: set-up touches away, do your movebefore the cone.

Box, toe touch, sole box, roll across body, roll ball back and forth/hop

Start at cone A, Right foot only to cone D inside foot cut turn, return to cone A, inside foot cut turn
Start at cone A, left foot only to cone D inside foot cut turn, return to cone A, inside foot cut turn
Start at A, right foot dribble to cone D Pull back, left foot foot dribble back to cone A
Start at A, right foot sole roll to cone D. left foot sole roll back to cone A
Start at A: go A-B-C-D right foot only/left foot only

Short Ladders, cone 5 yards from each ladder, cone 3 yards offset from end of ladder.
COACHING POINTS / KEY CONCEPTS
1 person at a time in the ladder. Players to not go until coach says to. Send next players when the ladder is clear.
Ladder sequence: 1 foot in each space; sprint to blue/run backward to green
Ladder sequence: 2 feet in each space; side shuffle to blue/sprint to green
Ladder sequence: skiing; side shuffle to blue/ run backward to green
Ladder sequence: typewriter; sprint to blue/sprint to green

2 goals, 15 yards apart, cones to mark shooting zone.
COACHING POINTS / KEY CONCEPTS
Players dribble to the cones, take a "set up touch" then strike the ball with their laces. Focus on proper shooting technique. Touch away, shoot with laces, arm out for balance. Player retrieves their ball and go to the cone next to the goal.
Orange=Right Foot, Yellow=left foot. Switch directions after 3 minutes
