Lot more slower tempo build up than the two previous games, mainly down to low block defensive shape Sweden went with and countered them well in the 3-0 victory with all goals coming in the second half.
During the second half in particular Sweden gambled more by keeping two forwards high during Mexico attacks leaving 3v2 at the back.
Key ball was still looking to get Hernandez to drop in and three further ahead would advance.

Did a high final third press was constant again in the third qualifier against Sweden but the noticeable change especially in the second half was how high 22 Lozano, 11 Vela, 13 Hernandez and 7 Layun were and stayed when out of posession.
At times front four were all in opponents half when Sweden were attacking in the final third.
Unsure as to whether this was instruction of game plan to stay high as Sweden were or whether physical fatugue from two previous games and no changes was showing ti be evident.
Mexico reamining 6 followed runners and very rarely passed on again. Hard working across and great pace to pree and track runners, which out of posession in Mexicos half was at times 6v6.

Transition from defence to attack was similar as previous two but not the same pace or intensity.
Front four in Lozano, Vela, Hernandez and Layun would all break at incredible pace once possesion regained looking to exploit Sweden but at times ended up getting countered themselves with Sweden two forwards kept high.
Player driving with the ball would always look to mainain run centrally with two widest going on the outside of full backs and Hernandez or hghest forward pulling onto opposite centre half and driving in.
With Swedens narrow shape of two banks of four Mexico looked to play a lot more on the outside of full backs when transitioning in attack wit Layun 7 and Lozano 22 alway stretching wide

Transition to defence would start with initial high press as shown previously in out of posession.
Due to Sweden getting the ball into the final third quickly through a lot of long balls the high press wasn't as effective and the second phase from knock downs of Sweden forwards is what caused Mexico problems.

Corner Kicks and Attacking free kicks from previous game was constant.
Goal kicks were now always played out and short, looking to break the line of the two Sweden forwards and exploit the overload in centee of midfield.
Centre halfa splitting to in line with the penalty spot, with two holding midfielder Herrera and Guardado playing on the inside of forwards also offering for the ball from Ochoa.
Full backs were high and wide in line with edge of the centre circle with Vela now pushed on with front 3 in a four man for man with Swedens back four.
The ball in this set up used was clip into Alvarez, Layun and Vela which created a 3v2 and great attacking opportunity of the first ball was won.

Defending Corners Mexico kept all 3 players high looking to keep at least 3 South Korea players back.
3 Salkcedo marked front post and went out when Korea played short.
23 Gallardo would mark front space but also went out when Korea played short along with Salcedo.
5 Markers included 7 Layun, 16 Herrera, 15 Moreno, 2 Ayal and 11 Vela.
Defending Free Kicks
Against Sweden free kicks Mexico defender in a complete man for man which split across the edge of the 18 yard area, with only one in wall and like corners kept three up top high at every chance.
Sweden split them as a team sending three and three each side and leaving huge gap on the ewdge of 18 to penalty spot.
No zonal shape to any defensice set plays but like their in play defending was very much man for man and individual responsibility.
