The goal is for the team as a whole to learn the intricicies of each role on the field in order to build up possession from the backline into the attacking half of the field in a controlled manner that allows the attacking team to not only maintain possession but to eventually get the ball deep in dangerous scoring areas of the field.

HOW THE GAME WORKS: In a 40 x 20 Rectangle players will play 5vs3 +1vs1 to goal. Two goals are placed 15-20 yards off one side of the grid with a counter attacking goal for the defenders on the other side. Players should be placed in the grid based on the position they play in games. Balls always start from the same side. Attacking team MUST find the forward before they can score. If defending team wins the ball they can immediately counter attack and score. One of the three defenders MUST start behind the forward.
OVERALL OBJECTIVES: To learn how to use possession to get the ball deep and create a shot. In addition to coaching the roles discussed in the previous activity, the roles of the central midfielders should now be addressed along with how the forward should move based on the midfielders movement. Ideally, every rep would end with a shot on goal.
