Objective: Improve ability to beat opponents 1v1
Area: Divide ¼ of Campton indoor field in half
Activity: Map out the activity as shown with 3 or 4 cones behind the mannequins, instead of the 5 or 6. You can use the poles in the back as mannequins. Players should use their moves to beat the dummy (4 dummy steps, 4 platinis, 2 where the choose on their own). Navigate using their right foot (4) only and left foot (4) only through the cone slalom and then 2 times using both feet. As they go towards the live defender who can only stay in their box, encourage players to be brave going and using a move inside the box to beat the player.
Coaching Points: Change direction and change pace; players have to accelerate during this exercise; heads up; close control of the ball; use moves to unbalance the defender; challenge the defender; be courageous and run at the defenders; encourage players to shoot with laces and not their toes- it is next week’s topic.
Please allow the game to flow and coach players while they’re in line and coach them through the moments.

Objective: Improve ability to beat opponents 1v1
Area: ¼ of Campton indoor field
Activity: Map out a field that fits the amount and age of your players. No smaller than a 10x15. Divide into two teams. You need a GK at each end who can rotate. The game is 1v1. The only way to leave Thunderdome is to win your 1v1 battle. If you score, you leave and the next person in line becomes the GK and the GK is now the attacking player. The players surround the field on the outside and they are to keep the ball live any way possible without using their hands. GKs cannot score but are required to restart the game.

Please allow the game to flow, encourage players to stay faced up at the defender whenever possible.

Objective: Improve ability to make decisions in a SSG
Area: ¼ of Campton indoor field (15x20) dependent on age and ability of group
Activity: Divide players into 2 teams. Assign GKs for each team. Coach has all the balls and will serve one of the teams. Teams try to score on one another. If they score, they stay on. If the ball goes into touch or out for goal kick or corner kick all players must change. It will keep everyone engaged. If play goes on for a minute, change both teams.
Coaching Points: Change direction and change pace; players have to accelerate during this exercise; heads up; close control of the ball; use moves to unbalance the defender; challenge the defender; be courageous and run at the defenders; decision to pass the ball or dribble; how can we help them with their decision making

Blob Tag (10 mins)
Objective: Improve change of direction in order to beat opponents
Area: ¼ of Campton indoor field
Activity: All players inside the grid. Coach selects 2 people who are on different teams to be taggers. If a tagger tags a player, that player must now join arms with the tagger to create a blob. Play for a minute and then choose new taggers.
Coaching Points: Change direction and change pace; players have to accelerate during this exercise; heads up; close control of the ball; use moves to unbalance the blobs and cause them to break apart; challenge the blobs; be courageous and run at the blobs.
Do without balls first couple of times. Then add in the balls.
