Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Girls U7/U9's 17/07/23 (Start Time: 2023-07-17 18:00:00)

Warm up (15 mins)

Set up

• Split into 4 x teams and spend 2 x minutes on each station
• Players must have the ball in hands

Drill

• Station 1 (red) - hop from marker to marker, round the mannequin and then back to the start
• Station 2 (blue) - fast feet through the ladder, round the mannequin and then back to the start
• Station 3 (green) - bunny hops, pass the ball under the hurdle, round the mannequin and then back to the start
• Station 4 (orange) - side steps through the cones, round the mannequin and then back to the start

Conditions

• You must pass the ball to the next player, remember the ball is to remain in hand for the entire drill

Skill (15 mins)

Set up

• Pitch 30x20
• Split into 6 zones, 10x10
• Mini goals placed as per image
• 6 teams, positioned on each of the cones

Drill

• 1v1, the blue and red players race to complete a lap around the mini goals within their section, when they return to their starting position, the attacker will attempt to score with a first time finish before the defender can cover their goal.
• Swap the attackers and defenders once everyone has had a go.

• Move the starting positions to the other side of the goals meaning that they must use their other foot to strike at goal.
