Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): 3v2 Overloads attacking in the final Third

3v2 Attacking in the final Third (10 mins)

Method:

• This session focuses on a progressive situational setup.
  
• As part of the setup, a 3v2 overload is created by playing the first ball in through a wide zone. 
• The attacking player's objective is to cross the ball into the attacking players in the box.
• The defenders will attempt to score in the target goals if they win the ball in any zone.
• A 3v2 scenario inside the penalty area is created when the 2nd ball is collected and played into the box.
• Start with Zone 1 creating a 3v2 overload for a cross and the 9/10 must loose markers and try and score from a cross
• Zone 2 another player plays from the outside and joins the attack
• Zone 3 the third player outside starts by passing into the zone to create another 3v2 situation, with a cross into the box.

Coaching Points:

• Look for Players to create both space and time in possession Positioning off the ball
• Angles and distance of support Player on the ball pass to you or into space for you to Attack?
• Encourage Players to play with their head up, to be aware of pressure from opposition Entice to exploit!
• End product Attacking play to be quick with creative influence, i.e., movement, dribbling, passing, shooting
• Quick Transitions in both Attack and Defence
• Communication and awareness is key from all Players involve
