'Miller' - Scissors (Diagonally Challenged)
The Move
Fake to pass the ball with the outside of the left foot, then step around the ball with the same foot. Take the ball away with the outside of the right foot. Upper body movement is vital to off-balance your opponent. repeat the drill using the opposite feet
Coaching Points
This skill is a diagonally challened manoeuvre
Each cone is a defender, don't let the 'defender' touch the ball
The player should be on their toes throughout the drill
Exagerate the step over (creating space for the opposite foot), dropping the shoulder helps to "sell" the defender to go the opposite way from your final manouver.
Distance to the defender (not too close, not too early)
Close control and weight of pass
Finish the drill either with a good pass to a team mate or quickly move to the next skill keeping good ball control
Progression
Make it competitive, time the players and challenge them to improve on their individual best
