Red team start the practice with a 2v1 outfield -
once the ball goes dead either on touchline/goal line
or a goal is scored, then the Blue teams goalkeeper
restarts the practice but with 1 extra player from
each team having joined in, creating a 3v2. Game
continues creating 4v3, 5v4 and then finally a 5v5 is
played for 60 seconds. Scoring system - If the white
team score they get 1 goal. If the Green team score
they get two goals as generally they are playing with
an underload.
Goalkeepers will face several different types of shots
from many different situations.
Play 4 blocks, with the Goalkeepers staying in the
same goals for two blocks whilst the teams change
ends, and then swap the keepers over for the second
two blocks.
this ensure they face the two different teams and
the different scenarios - playing with the overload
and playing against the overload.
You can encourage the goalkeeper to communicate
simple tactics such as compactness but focus on
technical information both in and out of possession.
