1v1
Integral part of every training session. The 1v1 is an essential part of player development. Success on both sides of the ball are important.
Organization:
- See Diagram.
How to Play:
- 1v1 to goal.
- Rapid Fire continual activity, allowing short periods of rest to maximize focus and work rate during the 1v1.
Progressions:
- Must perform an attacking move before scoring.
- Transition to 2v1 to give a passing option. In a 2v1, player with ball must determine when is the best time to dribble and the best time to pass.
Coaching Notes:
- Attacker, go forward immediately.
- Defender, press the ball. Force attacker to the outside.

4v4, 4v4+1, etc..
Final phase of the training session.
Organization:
- See Diagram.
- Make grid appropriate to number of players.
How to Play:
- 4v4 to Goal.
Progressions:
- Add Neutral Player.
- Add Channel Players.

- Stay organized / keep shape both offensively and defensively.

Simple yet effective technical warmup with multiple progressions allowing players to work on fundamental skills with no pressure.
Organization:

- Grid Size 15x10 (may vary depending on number of players)
- Half the players start inside the grid. Half start on the outside.
How to Play:
- Rules depend upon the skill or progression.
- Example, inside player dribbles to outside player, takeover.
- Activity gives ability to focus on different ways to dribble, pass & receive.
Coaching Notes:
- Encourage players to keep ball close to feet.
- Quality first touch. Accurate passes.
