Attacking The Final Third

Key Factors

• Attacking the final third (In possession).

• 5v5 including a goalkeeper for the yellow team.
• The blue team is working on their play within the final third, how can they be dangerous and exploit the opposition.
• If the yellow team wins the ball back, there are two mini-goals for them to score in. 

• Practice is just past the width of the 18yard box and 38m in length.

• The blue team, who are in possession are shooting against a goalkeeper in the 11 aside size goal.
• The balls are organised between the two mini-goals, this is for the blues to start the play every time.
• Players are not set in positions, therefore, do not have any roles position specific, but the team's objective is to be dangerous and creative in the final third.
• Two mini goals at the other end of the practice for the yellows to score in if they regain possession.

Coaching Points

1) Move the ball with pace and purpose in the final third, communicate with the players to effectively attack the opposition.

2) Rotation between the blue team is important when in final third to move the opposition, can players be creative and find different ways to attack the yellow's goal.

3) When finding a half space infront of goal can we shoot and find corners to challeneg the oppositions goalkeeper.
