Set Up:
Start 8 v 1. Play for 8 minutes and then switch roles.
Yellows can move anywhere within area. If reds win ball at any time, they try to score in mini goal to get a point.
Yellows should repress to win the ball.
If the ball leaves the area, all defenders leave area and reset.
Every 4 passes for yellow = 1pt
Every 4 passes for yellow = add a defender until 8v7 (alter numbers based on group size)
Winning team = most points after both have switched.
Key Points
- Retain the ball if you have time and space. Force the press to come to you, opening up space elsewhere.
- Scan constantly when off the ball
- Yellows; work together to trap the ball and win it.

Set Up:
Reds play a pass to their opposite number, for that red to then take their first touch either left or right with a defender coming out to defend from each side.
Red cannot score in mini goal (use cones if no goals) until they make it into end zone.
If the Blues win the ball back, they can score in the opposite half to the one they won it in (gives reds time to counter press) - another red must come in to defend.
Key Points:
- Angle of 1st touch
- Speed of dribbling and change of direction
- Use of skill to unbalance the defender
