Organization:
Set up as shown.
Instructions:
Team out of possession (Reds).
- Pressure vs possession game, (4 reds vs 6 blues).
- Reds are looking to work on their attacking transition upon winning back possession.
- While blues are looking to work on keeping possession inside both halves, reds are looking to press, win the ball back and and transition quickly to finish on any of the counter goals. Reds can also score by dribbling through the gates.
- The 4 red players inside the playing area switch roles with the other 4 red players on the outside after every two balls served in by the coach.
- On coach's call, the reds switches roles with the blues.
The team in possession (Blues).
- Blues have 4 players inside the playing area and 2 bounce players who are slightly placed behind the poles i.e. one in-between the each gate.
- Blues are looking to score by making 10 consecutive passes to score a goal.
- If blues makes 10 consecutive passes, they should continue to play and aim to make another 10 consecutive passes.
- If blues makes 20 consecutive passes, they play is over with a new ball being served in by the coach.
- If the play breaks-down, they need to defend their counter goals and gates until they regain possession or the ball goes out of play.
- Upon loss of possession, the bounce players are allowed to step inside the playing area to defend the gates but they are not allowed to defend the counter goals.
- The resting (2) blue players comes in after every two balls served by the coach.
Coaching Points:
Team out of possession:
- Strong mentality to press and win back possession.
- Sprint to hunt the ball.
- Look to pressure and cover when defending as a pair.
- Run through attacker when going 1v1 against attacker.
- Counter attack / fast attack to score upon winning back possession.
- Quick combination play to score in the counter goals.
- Dribbling and running with the ball at speed to get through the gate.
Team in possession.
- Spread out.
- Utilize space and triangulate to create passing options.
- Speed of play i.e. move the ball quickly to unbalance the pressing team and break lines.
- Quick combination play to break opposition pressure.
- Dribble to break opposition pressure when necessary.
- Shield to protect the ball when necessary.
- Quick ball transfer into the other half.
- Invite to break i.e. draw opposition player in and then quickly look to break their pressure.
- Good habits on the ball i.e. good first touch, quality passes and sets, communication, movements off the ball, mentality to counter press when possession is lost e.t.c.
Progressions:
- The defending team (the team working on attacking transitions) can only score in the half that possession is won.
- The defending team (the team working on attacking transitions)can only score in the opposite half of that possession is won.

Organization:
- Set up as shown.
Instructions:
- Reds set up in a 1-3-2-3 formation while blues set up in a 1-3-3-2 formation.
- The exercise starts with the coach serving the balls into the blues, the blues will look to attack and score quickly within 10 seconds of receiving the ball from the coach.
- All the reds must start in their own half during all restarts.
- Reds will look to defend their goal and press very hard to regain possession and counter-attack to score on opposition goal.
- Every blue goal counts for a point.
- If reds scores a goal from an attacking transition, that goal will count as double, otherwise, reds gets a point for each goal scored.
- All the reds must cross the halfway line for their goal to count.
- The team switches roles and formation on coach's call.
Coaching Points:
Team out of possession:
- Mentality to press collectively during the defending phase.
- Execute our pressing principles.
- During attacking transitions, counter attack with speed, skills and precision.
- Quick combination play to finish on goal.
- Decision making on when to run with the ball and attack the spaces behind the opposition goal.
- Recognizing certain moments to be direct and play the ball forward early in order to create goal scoring opportunities.
- Finishing on goal with quality.
Team in possession:
- Quick combination play to disorganize and penetrate opposition.
- Recognizing moments to shoot on goal from distance if opponents keeps dropping off.
- Invite to break i.e. draw opposition player in and then quickly look to break their pressure.
- Switching play / switching the point of attack to create 1v1's or 1vGK
- Good habits on the ball i.e. good first touch, quality passes and sets, communication, movements off the ball, mentality to counter press when possession is lost e.t.c.
Progressions:
- Upon possession regains, the team in attacking must score within 8 seconds.
- 9v9 practice match.

Passing vs Dribbling
Organization:
- Set up as shown.
Instructions:
Reds.
- Half of the reds (4 players) are passing one ball on the outside of the area and rotates positions, while the other half (4 players) with two balls are passing and moving inside the playing area.
- The four red players are in pairs (2) inside the area are looking to pass in between players.
- After 60 seconds, the blues switches roles between themselves.
- After 2 minutes, the blues switches roles with the reds.
Blues.
- Half of the blues (4 players) i.e. one player per ball are dribbling inside the area performing moves and turns, while the other half i.e. one player per ball are dribbling north-south and east-west. They are looking to dribble and run with the ball as fast as they can through the traffic.
- After 60 seconds, they switches roles.
- After 2 minutes, the blues switches roles with the reds.
Coaching Points - Passing & Receiving:
- Quality of pass i.e. weight, accuracy, disguise, firm, timing, spin e.t.c.
- Movement and support.
- Awareness i.e. scanning the playing area and checking over shoulders.
- Body shape to receive i.e. side on / half-turn.
- Communication i.e. verbal and signs.
Coaching Points - Dribbling & Running With The Ball.
- Awareness i.e. keep your head up to observe space and other players inside the playing area.
- Close ball control.
- Drive with speed to take up available spaces when running north-south and east to west.
- Try different moves using the players inside the areas as imaginary defenders.
