 Attacking final third Description

This drill develops attacking play in the final third, focusingon combination play, overloads, and use of width.Fourteen players (6 Red, 6 Blue, 2 Yellow) operate on a40 × 40 m pitch divided into defending, midfield, and finalthirds. Yellow players act as neutral wide support;defenders cannot enter the channels. The drill starts with the goalkeeper building from thedefending third. As the ball enters midfield, one playerjoins to create a 3v2 overload. Attacking players canprogress into the final third with additional teammates, using yellow players for crosses. Goals scored fromcrosses earn extra points. The drill emphasizes timing ofruns, switching play, exploiting overloads, and finishing.Progressions include limiting touches or increasingdefensive pressure, while regressions allow more time andspace for decision-making.
