Dribbling - Cone Game

Key Factors

• The blue team must turn the cones upside down
• The white team must turn the cones the right way up
• All players must be dribbling with the ball at their feet at all times. Their ball must be stopped dead before they can turn a cone over
• The team with the most cones their way after 3 minutes are the winners

Organisation

• Make the circle about 20 yards across (the size of a full sized center circle)
• If players are just stood at one cone introduce a rule where they can not turn over the same cone twice in a row

Progression

• Make one player from each team a defender, who may tackle the other team and clear their ball. The attacking player must go and retrieve their ball before they can carry on turning cones over.
  
• Introduce 2 different coloured cones that are worth 5 points each. This will encourage decision making, is it better to go to the congested area with the high value cones, or go and get more low value cones?

• Mechanics: Keep ball close, Vary surfaces of the foot, Head Up, Change of pace, Change of direction
