See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
Same two grids, with four players from each team. One team in middle of grid, all players with balls. 1 ball and other team on outside of the grid. Extra balls around the area.
Instructions:
Team on outside of the grid attempts to pass as many times as possible without hitting a player or ball dribbling inside the grid. Teams play for 90 seconds then switch. Team with most passes wins.
Coaching Points:
- Technical: Instep passing technique (toe up, ankle locked, follow through, plant foot and hips to target)
- Technical: Movement to find gaps (SPLITS) between defenders when off the ball
- Technical: Body shape, hips to the middle to receive on back foot, how else can you receive the ball?
- Tactical: How to I get the pass through the splits? (Weight of pass, play to feet or space?)
Progressions/Regressions:
P) Team in the center tries to dribble their ball into the pass. If the pass is intercepted, the passing team must steal a ball back from the dribbling team and get back outside of the box in order to score more passes. Passes must completely pass through box to count. Split passes (between players) are worth 3 passes.
P) Passing team must now play inside the area, dribbling players can dribble into them or intercept. Each split on the dribble with completed pass after is worth 5 points, split pass is worth 5 points, a completed pass 1 point. Play 90 seconds and switch roles.

Instructions:
3v1 keepaway. If defender wins the ball and is able to dribble out of the sqaure, the player who lost the ball becomes the defender. 1 point for winning the ball back, 1 point for every 3 passes. Player with the most points wins.
Coaching Points:
Technical:
- Open body shape to see the field/defender
- Letting the ball roll across to the furthest foot to play faster/take a better first touch
-Passing technique and weight
-Running backward to keep your hips open to take with back foot
-When should you close your hips and pass back with the front foot?
Progressions/Regressions:
P) 3 touch max
P) 2 touch max
P) second ball
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
See figure. Four boxes 15x15. Four players per box.
Instructions:
The two red boxes play together and the two blue boxes play together. 4v2 transition rondo to goal to start. Teams must make 5 passes and score in the goal closest to them for 5 points, or make 4 passes for 1 point. Defenders can score by winning the ball back and passing back to their grid and earn their team 2 points, and then join their box again to keep the ball, while the other team sends two defenders to win the ball back quickly.
Coaching Points:
Technical:
- Open body shape to see the field/defender (why is this important?)
- Letting the ball roll across to the furthest foot to play faster/take a better first touch out of pressure
-Passing technique and weight
-How can you move so your hips are aways facing toward the center of the field? (Running backward to keep your hips open to take with back foot)
-When should you close your hips and pass back with the front foot? (Defender right there)
Progressions/Regressions:
P) Players play 4v3
