Coaching Points: Recieve back foot, play to back foot. Quick movement to get into correct shape.

Organization: 30x30 area divided into 3 10yd zones. 3 Players and GK.
Instructions: Players pass ball and finish with attempt on goal. Each player must touch the ball before a shot is taken and they try to get the attempt in 3 passes only. Progression: add 1 defender, then 2, then 3. 2 touch, then 1 touch.
Coaching Points: Can you position yourself to play forward? Play to the correct foot and recieve forward with a positive 1st touch. Can you play a 3rd man run to score? After you pass, make a run. During play we need support behind the ball AND a target to play forward. Movement to correct spaces. COMMUNICATION. Body position.
Coaching Points with Defenders: Isolate the defender and move to create a 2v1 or 3v1 - a numbers up situation. Can add 2nd and 3rd defender starting positions from recovery runs

Organization: 4 teams of 3. 1 defender then add a 2nd. 3 gates on center line.
Instructions: Defender(s) can only run center line and "block" a gate, which can't be passed though if the defender(s) is present. Teams try to get every player to touch the ball and then transfer the ball to the team in the opposite grid. Once the ball is passed across, the team retreats to the yellow con and the next team comes in. Play continues. After the players can complete the task efficiently, add a 2nd defender so that only one gate is open to play through. Players on the outside shoud COMMUNICATE or "coach" the movement of the players on the inside. Keep score, every time you don't complete the task correctly, your team gets a point. Team with the most points loses. Rotate defender(s). Can the players complete a transfer in 3 passes?
Coaching Points: Awareness and Movement by team not in possession. COMMUNICATION inside and outside the grid. Awaremess of what gate(s) is open. Quick transition of teams into and out of grids. Pasing and recievieng technique.
Progression: Can add a 3rd defender who can try to win the ball in either grid as play ensues.

Organization: Game starts out 4v2 in one grid, and a 3rd defender who can only block passes and run the center line.
Instructions: The 4 try to maintain possesion and connect to the player in the opposite grid. 1 player (a 3rd man run) may join in with the #9 and attempt to play the ball into either of the corner goals. The defender on the line may make a recovery run along with the closest next defender. The last defender recovering becomes the center line defender. Progression: Remove restrictions from center line defender, as well as all defenders and play in 1 grid.
Coaching Points: How few good passes can the use to connect to the #9 successfully. Play it when it's "on". Take the 1st touch forward to enable another forward pass. Face forward to recieve the ball. Move the ball quickly to move the defenders to create a gap to play through. Angled runs by the #9 to connect forward. 3rd man runs to join in for support. If you can't play the #9, can you get it to a player who can with the next pass?
