Tactical Defenders stay close together and move as a unit |
Teams in Boxes A and C are working together.
Passing between themselves and trying to find space for a pass through to the other team
Defending Team in Box B aims to stay tight and shuffle side to side to prevent ball being played.
If team makes more than 6 passes in a box then 1 defender can enter and try and tackle.
Swap Teams regularly

Very simple 3 v 2 drill working in a channel.
Player 1 and 2 are defenders. Players 3, 4 and 5 are attackers
Defender (1 or 2) passes up to any of the attackers... chase the ball to put pressure on the attackers
The attackers receive the ball, control it and coordinate their attack (triangles) to control possession, make space and score.
Coaching points for attackers
1) controlling the ball
2) spread out - make space
3) communicate
4) maintain a triangle - ensure there is always a spare man to pass to.
Coaching points for the defenders
1) One defender chases the ball to put pressure on the receiver - don't over-commit
2) approach and take defensive position, side-on to push the attacker to the sides
3) challenge to win the ball, look to see movement of the spare man

7. player 2 shoots
8. all players move up a position and player 3 joins back of other queue
9. play starts again from other queue into 2nd goal
COACHING POINTS
1. look for player 2 to use some movement to recieve first pass in box, drop front left or right of box and simple lay off
2. player 1 needs to play firm pass upto 3 calling name, imagine its a game there pass needs to be game like
3. very important that the timing of player 2's run is not to quick, he should try and time it so he is leaving the box just as player 3 lays it off
