ORGANISATION
•Create Pitch 60 x 30 yards;
•Split players into 2 teams of 8 players - blues and reds - both teams playing in a 3-3-1 formation
AIM
•Play resumes with the red team's (to be coached) goalkeeper initially
•Blues try to score on the counter attack within 6 passes - if they fail to do so, possession is returned to the red team.
•Red team to attempt midfield rotation to create space and get on the ball as much as possible
CONDITIONS
•Both sides must play with 2 deep lying midfield players. They must not proceed past the half way line
•Only RED midfield players can pass the ball to the attackers. This will encourage the ball to be played forward through midfielders by defenders
KEY POINTS
•Angles and distances of players
•When in possession make area wide as possible
•Look at movement of attacking midfielder and rotation of players
•Be wary of work to rest ratio of middle 3 defending
•Accuracy of pass
•When how and where to make runs
•Quality of movement
•Support defenders
PROGRESSIONS
•Allow all RED players the opportunity to pass the ball to the attackers.
•When attacking, allow the red team to play with one deep lying midfielder, the other can join in the attack inside the opposition half, but MUST regain shape if possession is lost.

ORGANISATION
•30 x 20 pitch size, in central midfield area.
SET UP
•2 target players on the outside of the box.
•Working on playing centrally through the midfield 3 with BLUES
•Ball starts with the server.
•The aim is for the 3 blues to transfer the ball from one server to the other server. Once you’ve done so you can then keep switching play as many times as you can. It’s up to the reds to try and disrupt the flow.
